Spratt Emanuel Engineering Ltd. (SEE) is a vanguard of the field and is committed to meeting and exceeding the expectations of our clients. With a history of building envelope consulting dating to the 1960’s, members of Spratt Emanuel Engineering were the first building envelope engineering consultants in Vancouver.

We have extensive building envelope consultation experience on new construction, building enclosure rehabilitation, deep energy retrofits, roofing rehabilitation, parkade waterproofing rehabilitation, glazing system rehabilitation, building mechanical system upgrades, EV charging and decarbonization studies and upgrades, paving and site drainage rehabilitation, swimming pool rehabilitation, heat tracing systems, and fall protection systems. Our experience also includes capital planning/reserve fund studies, depreciation reports, and property condition assessments.

Our company sets stringent standards and our engineers are bound by the guidelines of the Association of Professional Engineers Code of Ethics of Professional Practice.

Brian Boomars, P.Eng. - Principal

A graduate of the University of British Columbia, with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Mechanical Engineering), Brian Boomars specializes in Building Sciences and Mechanical Engineering. He has over 30 years of engineering experience and has managed a multitude of construction projects throughout Canada. Brian is also Vice President of the BC Branch of the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants, a member of the BC Building Envelope Council (BCBEC), and is registered with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).

As Principal of Spratt Emanuel Engineering, Brian is responsible for the management of the company’s operation and ensuring that the highest level of standards is maintained on all projects.

Mark W. Emanuel, P.Eng. - Chief Engineer

A graduate of Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Science (Civil Engineering), and more than 40 years of engineering experience, Mark W. Emanuel has established himself as a leading Building Envelope Consultant in Western Canada and is registered with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).

A commitment to the highest levels of professionalism and quality has earned Mark four Vancouver Heritage Awards. Mark is well regarded for his expertise in the field of Building Envelope consulting and is often called upon as a professional expert for forensic investigation, professional liability litigation, and insurance claims.
